o yes... and JESUS SAVES!
I design prints for shirts sometimes.. I use a number of different methods in the actual painting/printing of the images, depending on how complicated they are. The designs on the shirts are all my own and in most cases quite experimental. If you like any of my designs please comment. If you don't you can comment too. If you want a design contact me and we can make a plan.. Thanks for checking out my blog. Hope you digg it!

CAT
OK so this was just for fun. I had an old t-shirt lying around that I had cut the sleeves off and I had a sudden urge to be creative. I love cats and had been meaning to put one on a tee for a while so this is what came out.
I used the same fabric paint pen tube thingy that I used for the "John 3:16" shirt and got a friend to sew the sleeve and neck holes for me.
This style of painting is really growing on me and there will probably be more similar stuff on the way!
Enjoy!

UNTITLED
Hey!
So I made this shirt a little while ago and have been meaning to post pictures of it for a while now but just haven't been able to get around to it. I just finished up with exams and got a chance to get it done. There will be a lot more to come over the next couple weeks!
I pretty much just used regular fabric paint and a wide brush to do the design.
Hope you guys dig it!

JOHN 3:16
Hey guys. So my friend Jessie asked me to do a design for her on one of her old plain white vests and this is what I came up with. I usually draw in a messy/scribbly style and it has started to come through in some of my tops (more posts to come). I particularly like the way this came out. My personal critique is that the text could have been a bit smaller but the message it brings across is far more important than how it looks. I thought this content would be appropriate because Jessie's life expresses God's love for the world. She is one of the kindest, most loving and considerate people I know.
In the actual painting of the shirt I used a soft pencil (6B) to sketch roughly what I wanted the design to look like and then went at it with a fabric paint pen. It is kinda like a tube of paint with a pen-like nozzle which when you squeeze it allows the paint to come out thinly (like a pen) and thus achieve the scribbly drawing effect.

This is the only picture I have at the moment but I will soon edit this post with a picture of her with the shirt on.

PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN
Hey guys..
So I have a friend who is also a creative and an amazing designer who studies textile design who I have been keen to "collaborate" with for a while. We recently took a day to materialize (get it? - because t-shirts are made from material!) some of our design ideas. We pretty much ended up doing a type of swap where I made a shirt for her and she made one for me (well for me to give as a gift - it's a girls shirt). We discussed ideas and came to some conclusions and after deciding on the fits that we wanted for our respective tees we went straight into action with scissors, brushes, fabric paint and fabric marker. These were the results:
The shirt I made:
Inspired by the South African flag - obviously!
Oh... and I managed to come across a "signature". Try to guess what inspired that!
The shirt Hele made:
Inspired by South Africa's national flower - the Protea, stylized as "proe-tea-ah".
"proe-tea-ah" is a play on some Afrikaans and English words that when you say them you actually say the Afrikaans word for "Protea". "Proe" means "taste", "tea" is tea and "ah" is the sound you make when you enjoy your tea!
The below images are just some small details that we added - the purple button fastens the turn-ups of the sleeves, which we thought was a cool little finisher and Hele signed underneath my "signature" block to add an element of individuality.
I am going to be uploading a post explaining the process of the designing and making of the "proe-tea-ah" shirt. I love seeing designers' process work and these were really fun shirts to make.
Hope you guys digg them :D

WHAT'S UP WITH SHEEP
Hey people... so I have been working on some new designs. I had a couple of girls tank tops lying around that I had ideas for but those ideas faded out and so I had some empty tops. My girlfriend likes sheep (apparently) and she requested this design. So the idea was primarily hers - I just made it happen. She loves it, but then again she has to. Let me know what you think in the comments and feel free to leave suggestions for the other top.

MESSING AROUND WITH FABRIC PAINT
Whatsup!!! So I have been meaning to design some t-shirts for about a year now but just haven't found the time amongst my studies and procrastination. It got to a point where I saw a t-shirt sale and bought a couple of plain shirts, some fabric paint and a brush and decided to mess around a little and came up with these two designs. Please excuse the bad photography as I so desperately wanted to get these seen and couldn't wait for a model or photographer so I just hung them on the wall and snapped them. Please leave comments on what you think about them. Also, the name of this blog was derived from the design on the pink shirt. I know... original right?
